ABOUT

Julia McCall is a Kansas City based musician, producer, and all around creative individual…

As a Sound Designer she has programmed music performance software, designing sounds for software-based keys players, and producing tutorials and educational content. She has also produced a variety of musical projects for herself and others, and loves the creativity that is sparked when two or more creatives come together to make something great.

She has also claimed the title of Producer on a new breakout comedy podcast, “That’s How You Feel?!” This podcast embodies all things unhinged, from ridiculous conversations about how to pronounce words, to personal opinions and rants, to honest and deep conversations about important topics. Julia has been with the hosts since the beginning of the show, planning and working behind the scenes to create a space of humor and authenticity for viewers.

Julia has 12+ years experience as a church keyboardist as well as 8+ years as a freelance producer. She received a B.M. of Music Technology from the University of Central Missouri where she began her work as a performer of technology. While working on her undergraduate degree, Julia wrote, recorded and performed a number of works for piano, technology, voice, ensembles and more. She also began her freelance work, producing originals and covers for individual artists and large groups alike.

Being raised in the Church, Julia has been a member of a variety of worship teams since she was just 13 years old. She has a deep love for music that moves and inspires others. She has released original music under her maiden name “Julia Curry” as well as under a duo title with her husband, “Levi + Julia.” Much of her musical background was built on the foundation of contemporary worship music.

Since 2019, Julia has worked as a Sound Designer for Sunday Sounds, a company that creates musical software and sounds for worship keys players. In this role she has created hundreds of live software keys patches, a number of sound libraries and overseen the creation of top level products in the company. This role has been the culmination of Julia’s passion for the Church and her technical expertise in sound design and production. Through this position, she has had the honor and privilege of being a keynote speaker at Churchfront Live, a gathering for worship and production leaders. She has also filmed countless educational videos and tutorials relating to sound design and technical software expertise.

Julia strives to encourage young creatives who feel they don’t measure up to professionals in the business. A special passion of hers is speaking to young women who are interested in the production side of the entertainment industry. She has had the honor of speaking to students in various high school and college programs about her career in audio and production.

But perhaps the most important title has been that of “Mom” and “Wife. Her two rambunctious children, Brooklyn and Boston and her partner and friend, Levi, are the reason she does what she does. None of it would be possible without the support and inspiration that comes from her family.
